short description of project : To create an installation of lighting, projections and wall drawings in one of the washrooms |
about
current work : I work with cast glass, light and concrete to create simple, iconic forms and installations that suggest both ceremony and functionality. The work takes inspiration from the shapes, colours and architecture of public washing facilities in Central and South America and alludes to the dual ritual and utilitarian nature of these basic human activities. The glass and concrete, ground and polished laboriously by hand, describe a meditative process and state of mind. I am currently working towards a two person show at The Park gallery, Falkirk in November entitled A piece of Mind. |
