image details : Gaston, digital film still, 2003
a short description of project :

A video work, shot on the West Coast of Scotland which addresses ideas of escapism and utopia by re-working a scene from a Monty Python film.

about current work :

My practice is involved in thinking about systems, their essential fictional element and their innate place in the human condition. In the past this has been manifested in pieces that attempt to document and categorise aspects of the city in a pseudo scientific and playful ways. However, recently the focus of the work has moved from the city to islands, their traditions and their role as hypothetical playgrounds for society.
