a
short description of project : As you turn your head on the pillow you catch a faint whisper, your story is being told as you sleep, tomorrow another will lie here, listening. |
about
current work : Moving through textiles, site-specific sculpture and text there is a multiplicity inherent in my work. This leaves me with a varied pool of interests, commitments and theoretical concerns, which on first glance may seem disparate but, on a closer inspection, connect at unexpected places and group to form a coherent body of work. I am currently concentrating on text and photographic works which explore the way we use personal encounters and stories to understand the world around us. |
a
brief biography : Graduating from Sculpture at Glasgow School of Art in 2000, I create sculptural spaces out of a wide range of mediums. Originally trained in Textiles I have employed the techniques of weaving to alter the physicality of spaces alongside photography, new media, sound and text. Key roles and exhibitions include : Co-founder, E merge D artists organisation; Past Standing, The Changing Room, Stirling, July 2003;Unoccupied Territories, K&S Gallery, Berlin, April 2003; For:Intermedia, Intermedia Gallery, Glasgow, August 2000; Shortlisted for Pepinniere pour jeune artistes residency, Aix-en-Provence, France and Chateau de Sacy residency, nr Paris, France, January 2003. |
