My recent practise has
focused on notions of reproduction and nonsensical action.
This prompted me to propose a reproductive based installation within the
context
of Mansions Cafe. Over the period of a week I reintroduced fragmented
historical
imagery into the window and shop space.
Through a variety of performative
actions and video pieces I sought to explore the
notions of reproduction, repetition and reconstructed history. I extracted
fragments
from a variety of personal and historical imagery and constructed a narrative
from
the disparate elements. My main intention was for the public to view a
human
reproductive machine at work. Through viewing this process, I wished to
tackle
the hierachy of image production itself. I wanted the public to witness
a reconfiguration
of the space and build up of imagery and personal history within the context
of this
temporal situation. For the period of one week a section of the Mansions
Cafe took on
the mantle of an image laboratory.
