ABOUT THEIR CURRENT WORK :
: In June 2003, Esther completed an installation at Holocene in Portland, Oregon, an experimental music/art venue. At Holocene she also helped create and curate a space dedicated to installation art.
:Georgia has been a resident at Cove Park since June, 2003. She has been focusing on several writing projects, all savagely edited. A collection of essays, generally a page in length, which describe throw-away private moments in their split-second enormity. Another project, an ongoing series about the body and public transport, structured by footnotes, are performed in subways and on the street. She has made some stories into tiny books.
BRIEF BIOGRAPHY :
: Working collaboratively as .circle.repeat., esther AHN and georgia LEE HUSSEY apply a single action in repetition to a single material, such as clementine peels, wax impressions of our palms, and a carbon rubbing of the surface of a 1613 foot urban bridge. A large, often bizarre object constitutes the result.
Born in Seoul, South Korea, Esther Ahn was raised in New York. She has exhibited in Harlem, NY at Gallery M and "Art Walk," a part of the Siren Music Festival in Coney Island, NY. Since June 2002, she have been living and working in Portland, OR. Georgia Lee Hussey is a six-month resident at Cove Park, on the west coast of Scotland. She is a writer, sculptor, and curator. They both graduated from Sarah Lawrence College, outside NYC, in 2001.
.circle.repeat. have been making collaborative installation sculpture since 1999.
