Born in Western Australia in 1978. Baker is a Fremantle based artist. Graduated with first class honours in Fine Arts at Curtin University and received top honours in Fibre Textiles in 2001. Worked as a textiles technician for the Art Department for Curtin University; as a studio artist for Leon Pericles and as an artist Mentor for IASKA. Awarded the Dido fellowship recipient for 2002. Baker was an Artist in Residence at PICA 2002. Event manager for ‘Collard’ an art event/auction Kurb Gallery. She was also on the Steering Committee for the 2004 international art conference ‘The Space Between ’Teaching several specialist workshops around Perth and in the rural community. Group shows at IASKA – Kellerberrin, The Church Gallery, John Curtin Gallery, Craftwest, Fremantle Arts Centre, Moores Building and selection for the Kedumba Drawing Award – Sydney. Art work acquired in John Curtin Collection. Presently completing a Diploma of Education majoring in Fine Art at Edith Cowen University.
