E m e r g e D Based in Glasgow since 2002 E m e r g e D have showcased the work of over 300 artists in a variety of sites including vacant shop fronts, churches, derelict cafes, youth hostels and shopping centres. E m e r g e D has now expanded into Edinburgh offering local and international artists new opportunities to show their work and engage directly with audiences outside the traditional gallery setting. Devised by a team of locally based artists and curators the programme ‘[00/00]’ will act as a flexible platform for site-responsive art. Each month an individual or group of artists will be commissioned to produce work in spaces throughout the city. Artist talks, debates and peer-led critique sessions will form a key part of the programme. |
