resourceCITE at the Waygood International
Art Fayre 2005
As part of the 2005 Waygood International Art Fayre E m
e r g e D [leeds] will be presenting the resourceCITE
archive. resourceCITE will be open to the public for the duration of the ArtFayre
and will be exhibiting new developments and additions to the archive.
Waygood is one of the participating organisations in Locator, a fringe festival
that will coincide with the arrival of the British Art Show at Baltic on 23rd
September. The Waygood Art Fayre is just one of many events taking place in and
around Newcastle and Gateshead from September this year to January 2006.
About resourceCITE:
resourceCITE is a movable archive of catalogued
information about site and context–responsive
artworks. Made up of geographically divided components, the archive allows visitors
to access the documented work in a variety of different formats including books,
DVDs, VHS tapes, slides and audio CDs.
With the intention of de-mystifying the concepts behind art made for specific
contexts and environments, the archive presents a stimulating overview of past
and current national and international projects.
E m e r g e D is
a non-profit organisation originally founded in Glasgow in 2002 and now also
operating in Leeds and Edinburgh. Focusing on the commissioning of site and
context-responsive artworks, E m e r g e D supports
emerging artists in producing and exhibiting work in spaces outside of the
conventional gallery to engage new and diverse audiences in dialogue with
contemporary art and artists.
resourceCITE is constantly seeking new submissions to the archive, from all
artists whose work is site or context-responsive based.
