Description of artwork:
whatsthebigmistry Play(ed) on art as interaction, this is when art meets and unsuspectingly bumps itself into people in public places.
'Play' as not merely for observation. This may not seem like what you think art is - but that’s O.k. It was the taking part that counted. There was be play aids available. The work explored site and people and engagement. Located in the merchant city area whatsthebigmistry provoked interest, confusion and at times thought. Some of those that encountered 'Play' may found a willingness to do things that they may have not thought they’d be doing when they woke up that morning.

Statement about current work:

In the last year whatsthebigmistry has been making work that’s about spaces, people in those spaces and having some interaction with them.

What these spaces could be range the internet to the street, roaming the market square or inside a roadside cabin, perhaps a coffee bar or even on the bus. Anywhere we might share or inhabit in the public domain.

Encounter in these sites may prompt a free dance, an emotional exchange. An on the spot love poem. For those wanting to buy some art a live butterfly painting has known to be on auction as the paper is folded and the paint dries. This work is about interaction and people taking part in art and not merely looking at it. Not complicated art.
