Venue: 50 Bell Street Description of artwork: The shop space at 50 Bell Street in Glasgow is a space which is only known to The Third Person through various forms of media and communications technologies. Before the performance the artists had no direct physical experience of the site. Their perception of the space is defined by the digital representations and information collated by a third party. The Third Person occupied 50 Bell Street as a temporary visible production unit. They used their time within the space to process, assess and investigate the digital representations of 50 Bell Street and fresh raw material gathered during their residence at the Glasgow Sculpture Studios. The visibility of their working proccess/performance brought together the artists, material, site and audience. 'For a World of Difference' fused these elements and redifined the relationship between research, process, production and presentation. Statement about current work: The Third Person undertake context based projects with an emphasis on the engagement and participation of the public. Working with the relationship between image and audio The Third Person operate out-with the gallery, placing their work within the public arena. They aim to achieve a cohesive temporal moment between artist, location, time! and audience of which the only remnant is it's memory.
