BIOGRAPHY
Since graduating from The Glasgow School of Art in 2002 laura MARSHALL has worked towards launching herself as a professional freelance artist and curator. She has worked as the lead curator for Glasgow E m e r g e D since October 2004 and has worked for other arts organisations internationally. MARSHALL’s work explores with the relationships between artist, artwork and viewer, their subsequent effect on, and expectations of each other, often with a playful edge.
ABOUT THE WORK
Exploring the concepts of a ‘vacant shop front’, MARSHALL has developed a new, site responsive, work for Bell Street.

Using the physical boundary of the shop window between the public street and the private shop, MARSHALL has developed a new work using time-based media. Manifesting in a video projection onto the glass, filming the interior of the shop, the work invites the viewer to experience a perspective previously only encountered from the inside.
