STATEMENT
I
use various mediums to explore our interaction
with space. In the past I have built tiny spaces
using paper cubes and fabric, from there I made
images and video of the exploration of said spaces.
The images were large scale, and the video’s
had considered soundtracks to augment the visual
experience. In addition I have begun to create
large-scale room installations, that take into
accord the pre-existing context of the room, and
how I can create a new context.
One of my greatest desires when exploring and creating
space has been our interaction with such spaces,
and how these spaces can provide a setting for phenomenological
experience. Within the last few months my practice
has shifted tremendously, and I have begun to work
with sound. I would say that currently my spatial
exploration uses sound to free the creation of space
from the material to the immaterial. I am still using
images and video to create work, but my overall desire
is to utilize sound to create architectural spatial
experiences.
